APP Opposes Relocation of Imo Electoral Collation Centres

The Action Peoples Party (APP), led by State Chairman Hon. Ernest Njesi, condemned the reported attempt to relocate electoral collation centres in Imo State, specifically in the Ideato North/South Federal Constituency. The party expressed serious concerns regarding similar developments affecting the Nkwerre/Isu/Njaba/Nwangele (NINN) Federal Constituency.

Njesi emphasized the need for transparency and adherence to due process, stating that decisions impacting the electoral process should not be made unilaterally by a few individuals. He criticized the justification of insecurity for the proposed relocation, demanding clear explanations and verifiable evidence from the relevant authorities.

Njesi warned that poorly considered electoral arrangements could foster suspicion and division among communities that have historically coexisted peacefully. The APP called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security authorities to clarify the circumstances surrounding the relocation, provide legal and administrative justifications, and ensure stakeholder consultation before implementing any significant changes.
