Atiku Abubakar Calls for Unity After ADC Primary Win

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, emerged as the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after winning the party's primary election with 1,846,370 votes. He defeated Rotimi Amaechi, who secured 504,117 votes, and Moham Hayatu Deen, who received 177,120 votes.

Following his victory, Atiku appealed to aggrieved party members, including Amaechi and Hayatu Deen, to close ranks and support the party's efforts in the upcoming 2027 general elections. He emphasized the importance of unity within the ADC to strengthen its chances in future contests.

Additionally, there were reports of discontent within the ADC in Gombe State, where aggrieved members alleged manipulation during the recent primary elections. Atiku's message aimed to encourage collaboration among party members to enhance their leadership and governance capabilities.
