Recent developments indicate that politicians from Yamaltu Deba have approached Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, urging him to back new candidates to replace Goje.

However, loyalists within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yamaltu Deba have rejected this move, arguing it undermines democratic principles and does not reflect the will of the people. They have submitted a memorandum to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC national chairman, expressing unwavering support for Goje, citing his legislative experience and influence as vital for Gombe Central.
