Gombe APC Stakeholders Criticize Governor Over Goje

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State have expressed their discontent with Governor Inuwa Yahaya over alleged moves to replace Senator Danjuma Goje, who represents Gombe Central in the Senate, ahead of the 2027 elections. During a meeting in Gombe on Tuesday, the stakeholders reaffirmed their support for Goje, emphasizing his experience and broad acceptance as a political figure in the district.

They criticized the governor's actions as contrary to the wishes of the people and highlighted Goje's track record as essential for continued representation. The group also pointed out the APC's poor performance in the 2023 general elections, where the party lost two out of three Senate seats and five out of six House of Representatives seats in Gombe Central.

They accused the governor of sidelining experienced politicians, including Goje, during the presidential campaign, which they believe weakened the party's chances. The stakeholders urged the party leadership to uphold internal democracy and respect the will of constituents in selecting candidates for the upcoming elections.
