Wike Warned by Arise News Director Ahead of 2027 Elections

Sumner Sambo, the Director of Politics at Arise News, cautioned Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, regarding his political strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections. During an appearance on Arise Television’s The Morning Show, Sambo highlighted that the emergence of an African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice-presidential candidate from Rivers State could significantly change the voting dynamics in the state.

He emphasized that Wike should not underestimate the political influence of opposition figures and the challenges facing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Sambo's comments followed Wike's accusations against Rotimi Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation, for neglecting Rivers State during his tenure.

Sambo noted that some APC governors expressed concerns about Wike's political coalition, fearing it could confuse voters during the elections. He warned that voters might struggle to differentiate their choices across various political parties, potentially harming President Tinubu's electoral prospects.
