Atiku's Camp Shaken as Obi and Kwankwaso Unite for 2027

Atiku Abubakar's political camp is experiencing significant pressure as Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, join forces under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 presidential election. Reports indicate that former President Olusegun Obasanjo is backing the Obi-Kwankwaso alliance, which aims to unify the opposition against President Bola Tinubu.

This strategic partnership is seen as a move to prevent a repeat of the 2023 election scenario, where the opposition vote was split among multiple candidates. Dele Momodu, a member of Atiku's camp, is reportedly pushing for an Atiku-Obi ticket, while there are calls for Atiku to step aside for younger candidates.

The Kwankwassiyya Movement's spokesperson expressed optimism about the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket, emphasizing their commitment to work together. However, there are conflicting views within the ADC regarding Atiku's role and the potential for a unified candidacy.
