Kachikwu Wins ADC Presidential Nomination for 2027

Dumebi Kachikwu has been selected as the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the upcoming 2027 elections, defeating Atiku at the party's convention held in Abuja. The decision was made during a delegate vote, which endorsed Kachikwu as the candidate.

Following this, the faction led by David Mark dissolved the National Working Committee (NWC) and constituted a new executive committee. This new leadership includes Kingsley Oggah as chairman of the board of trustees, Abdulkadir Bashir as national chairman, Johnni Derek as national secretary, Kennedi O.

Odion as national treasurer, Amirigoy as national financial secretary, and Chri Ugwu as national legal advisor. Kachikwu described Nigeria as being at a critical crossroads, facing issues such as insecurity, unemployment, economic hardship, and deepening divisions.

He emphasized the need for the ADC to be a credible alternative capable of restoring hope to citizens. Abdulkadir Bashir urged party members to uphold the party's constitution and work towards strengthening the party for future elections.
