Amaechi Leads Atiku's ADC Campaign for 2027 Elections

Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has been appointed to lead the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the party prepares for the 2027 elections. This move comes amid concerns that the opposition parties lost the 2023 presidential election due to internal divisions.

The ADC plans to restructure its leadership framework and establish an integrated campaign command to maximize its chances in upcoming elections. Amaechi's decision to take on this role follows his experience in a similar position during the 2015 elections, where he helped deliver a historic defeat to then-incumbent Goodluck Jonathan.

Atiku Abubakar secured the party's presidential candidacy with 1,846,370 votes, while Amaechi garnered 504,117 votes, and Hayatu Deen received 177,120 votes. The ADC is also considering a collegiate system of administration to avoid winner-takes-all tendencies, as disclosed by Dr.

Salihu Lukman, a member of the ADC policy committee.
