Dapo Abiodun Launches Ogun APC Campaign Council for 2027

On September 17, 2026, Governor Dapo Abiodun inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections in Abeokuta, with former governors Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Senator Ibikunle Amosun notably absent. Abiodun, who serves as the Chairman of the Council, announced the commencement of campaign activities across all 20 local government areas, 236 wards, and polling units in Ogun State.

He urged the council to engage in grassroots consultations and strategic voter mobilization. Abiodun stressed that electoral success requires careful planning rather than relying solely on political reputation.

He directed the council to support all APC candidates, including President Bola Tinubu and governorship candidate Senator Olamilekan Adeola, along with his running mate Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun. The governor cautioned against factionalism and internal sabotage, emphasizing that appointments to the council are responsibilities rather than mere titles.

Chief Olusegun Osoba called for unity among party members, while Senator Adeola highlighted the importance of collective duty in the upcoming elections.
