APC Aspirants Defy Consensus for 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is witnessing a surge of activity as aspirants for the 2027 elections begin to obtain nomination forms, defying a consensus among party leaders. On Wednesday, various aspirants, including Sharafadeen Alli and Adebayo Adelabu, collected forms at the Ladi Kwali Hall in Abuja.

The governorship primaries are scheduled for May 21, with candidates like Olajide Adediran, who is contesting despite endorsements for Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat. The aspirants are pushing for direct primaries, aligning with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026.

Dr. Samuel Ajos emphasized the need for a level playing field, while former Lagos APC spokesperson Sey Oladejo also picked up a form for the Mushin Constituency II seat.

Hamzat, who has received endorsements from President Bola Tinubu and other party leaders, expressed excitement about his candidacy, highlighting his experience as Deputy Governor and his commitment to effective governance.
