APC Reschedules 2027 Presidential Primary to May 23

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a rescheduling of its presidential primary elections for the 2027 general elections. Initially set for May 15, 2026, the primary will now take place on May 23, 2026.

This decision was confirmed by Duro Meseko, the Deputy National Public Secretary of the APC, following a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) on Thursday. The party aims to ensure compliance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999) and the amended Electoral Act of 2026.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will publish the new timetable shortly. The sale of nomination forms will commence on April 25, 2026, and conclude on May 2, 2026, with a deadline for submission set for May 4, 2026.

The screening of aspirants will occur from May 6 to May 9, 2026, with the official public results for presidential aspirants to be announced on May 11, 2026. The primary elections for various positions will follow, culminating in the presidential primary on May 23.
