Dele Momodu Warns Nigerians Against Overreliance on Obi

Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), advised Nigerians not to solely rely on Peter Obi for the 2027 presidential election. Speaking on Tuesday, Momodu emphasized the importance of addressing pressing national issues such as insecurity, poor electricity supply, and weak governance instead of getting distracted by regional debates.

He accused the ruling Progressives Congress (APC) of fueling divisive narratives to maintain power, alleging that President Bola Tinubu is encouraging a North versus South narrative. Momodu acknowledged that while regional politics holds significance, there are no constitutional provisions preventing any Nigerian from contesting for the presidency regardless of their region.

He also mentioned the potential for alliances between Obi and other political figures like Rabiu Kwankwaso, but noted that such partnerships do not guarantee electoral victory, as success depends on strategic planning and not just social media popularity.
