Baba Yusuf Questions Obi and Kwankwaso's 2027 Chances

Baba Yusuf, the Chief Executive Officer of a global investment trade company, expressed skepticism regarding the presidential ambitions of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso ahead of the 2027 general elections. During an interview, Yusuf noted that while both politicians have significant followings across Nigeria, they face major challenges in achieving nationwide acceptance, particularly given that approximately 70 million voters did not participate in the 2023 elections.

He emphasized that voter numbers alone would not suffice for a successful presidential bid. Yusuf pointed out that Obi and Kwankwaso would need to engage in extensive consultations and negotiations to form coalitions, as no single political bloc is strong enough to defeat the incumbent structures without broader alliances.

He suggested that both politicians might need to negotiate power-sharing arrangements with elder statesman Atiku Abubakar to enhance their chances in the upcoming elections.
