Prof. Jega Urges EFCC and ICPC Probe on 2027 Campaigners

Former INEC Chairman, Prof. Jega, called for the EFCC and ICPC to investigate third-party campaigners ahead of the 2027 elections during an INEC roundtable in Abuja.

He emphasized the need to scrutinize funding sources to ensure compliance with campaign expenditure limits. Jega highlighted the violation of the Electoral Act by some campaigners who started early.

The establishment of an Elections Offences Commission Tribunal was recommended to address electoral reform challenges. This call comes amidst concerns about premature campaigning and the urgency to prepare for the 2027 elections effectively.
