2027 Election: Goodluck Jonathan Told Not to Contest, Reason Emerges

Former Senator Shehu Sani has advised former President Goodluck Jonathan not to contest the 2027 presidential election. Sani, speaking on a Politics program, highlighted the disunity within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the emergence of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as reasons for his advice.

The PDP has been plagued by internal conflicts and power struggles, with key members like Governors Wike, Ortom, Ugwuanyi, Ikpeazu, and Makinde leaving the party. Sani warned that Jonathan's return could further destabilize the party.

Meanwhile, Barrister Daniel Bwala, a special adviser to President Bola Tinubu, expressed concern that Jonathan's potential candidacy could disrupt Tinubu's political plans. The call for Jonathan to stay out of the race comes amid growing speculation about his return to politics.
