Goodluck Jonathan Rules Out 2027 Presidential Bid, Citing Betrayal Concerns

Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has reportedly ruled out a presidential bid for the 2027 elections, as sources reveal. Jonathan, who left office in 2015 after losing to Muhammadu Buhari, allegedly rejected a move by the Progressives Congress (APC) to contest in 2027, citing it as a betrayal to his candidate, Obi, who is running under the Labour Party for 2023.

Jonathan is said to be committed to the principle of rotational presidency and intends to complete President Bola Tinubu's tenure. Sources suggest that Jonathan's motive for not running in 2027 is to maintain southern solidarity and prevent any truncation of opportunities.
