2027 Election: Growing Concern in ADC Over Atiku, Peter Obi’s Ambitions, Details Emerge

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is facing growing concern within its National Working Committee (NWC) over the ambitions of presidential hopefuls Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. Despite not formally joining or registering with the party, their potential candidacy has raised alarm among ADC leadership.

However, the party's national spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, has dismissed any uncertainty, stating that the party is firmly on track for the 2027 election. Atiku and Obi are reportedly leading a coalition of opposition leaders aiming to unseat the President in the upcoming election, with the coalition adopting ADC as their political party.

Former national officers of the party have stepped down to make way for new leaders, including former Senate President David Mark as interim national chairman. Tunji Shelle, a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, has also resigned from his party membership, citing internal crisis and alleged insincerity among leaders as reasons for his departure.
