APC Group Warns Against Divisions Ahead of 2027 Elections

The APC Grassroots Governance Organisation expressed concerns regarding alleged political activities that may deepen divisions within the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja and signed by Mukhtar Taminu, the organization claimed that these initiatives could undermine the unity of the ruling party and its stakeholders.

They drew parallels to the internal disagreements within the People's Democratic Party (PDP) that contributed to its divisions before the 2023 elections, stating, “Today, we are witnessing what appears to be the same script being replayed within the APC.” The group criticized the proposed “rainbow coalition” for potentially promoting discord rather than unity. They specifically warned Wike against making provocative remarks about APC governors, asserting that such actions could threaten the party's internal cohesion.

The organization emphasized that the APC is larger than individual ambitions and called for vigilance among party leaders to prevent internal crises similar to those faced by the PDP. They urged support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
