APC Chairman Yilwatda Advocates Unity Ahead of 2027 Elections

Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), issued a statement on Sunday as part of his Eid-ul-Mawlid message, urging politicians and their supporters to prioritize national unity and brotherhood. He warned that political contests should not create divisions among Nigerians, asserting that political differences are temporary and should not undermine the bonds of brotherhood and national unity.

Yilwatda highlighted the virtues of compassion, tolerance, unity, and peaceful coexistence as demonstrated by Prophet Muhammad, stating that these values are crucial for addressing Nigeria’s current challenges. He called on Nigerians to view the country’s diversity as a source of strength and to resist exploitation of ethnic, religious, or political differences.

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, he cautioned against division, intolerance, and violence. Yilwatda also encouraged the Muslim community to pray for peace, security, and prosperity in Nigeria, expressing hope for the nation’s leaders and wishing all Nigerians a peaceful Eid-ul-Mawlid.
