APC Cautions Governors Against Opposition Alliances Ahead of Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) issued a warning to its members, particularly governors, against entering into political alliances with opposition parties in preparation for the 2027 general elections. The caution was prompted by reports that some dissatisfied APC governors were contemplating political engagements with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, due to disagreements regarding the political maneuvers of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and his emerging Rainbow Coalition.

Bala Ibrahim, the APC National Director of Publicity, articulated that loyalty to the party must be unwavering, stating that a member cannot simultaneously support another political platform while claiming allegiance to the APC. He indicated that any governor pursuing arrangements with other parties could face scrutiny regarding their commitment to the APC.

Ibrahim reiterated that the party aims to achieve electoral victories through its own structures and members rather than through alliances with external politicians.
