El-Rufai Ally Jafaru Sani Joins ADC Governorship Race

Malam Jafaru Ibrahim Sani, a former commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs and later the head of the Ministry of Education during Nasir El-Rufai's administration, has announced his intention to run for the governorship of Kaduna State in the 2027 elections. He obtained his nomination form to formally enter the race under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a brief response when contacted, Sani expressed his readiness to compete among the various candidates. His entry into the race is seen as a significant development due to his close association with the previous administration and his experience in governance.

Sani was reportedly among several aspirants who attended a strategic meeting with party stakeholders on Wednesday, aiming to work collectively towards securing victory for the ADC in the 2027 general elections. Other notable figures linked to the ADC governorship contest include Isah Ashiru Kudan, Professor Muhammad Sani Bello, Shuaibu Idri Mikati, and Tijjani Ahmad, adding fresh momentum to the political realignment in Kaduna ahead of the anticipated competitive governorship battle.
