Gombe APC Launches Campaign Councils Amid Notable Absences
On Thursday evening, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Advisory and Campaign Councils at the International Conference Centre in Gombe, ahead of the 2027 general elections. Notably absent were former Gombe State Governors Danjuma Goje and Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, both listed as patrons and members of the councils, which comprise a total of 666 members.
Dankwambo, representing Gombe North Senatorial District and a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), claimed he was unaware of his inclusion. Goje, representing Gombe Central Senatorial District, was also absent.
During the inauguration, Yahaya urged APC members to unite and reconcile differences to secure electoral victories, expressing confidence in the party's success for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other candidates. He highlighted the importance of grassroots mobilization and referenced various infrastructure and healthcare initiatives supported by the President.
