Save Enugu Group Targets Corruption Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Save Enugu Group, represented by Secretary General Ogbuefi Onyia Chuk, has initiated a campaign aimed at exposing corrupt politicians in Enugu State as the 2027 elections approach. The group announced the commencement of a comprehensive independent review focusing on three critical areas: performance, transparency, and corruption.

They warned that no politician, regardless of status or influence, would be spared from scrutiny. The group aims to ensure that the people of Enugu State receive full disclosure regarding the financial influences and activities of current officeholders and emerging political aspirants.

They stressed the importance of fact-based investigations to evaluate public trust and manage power effectively. The group also plans to investigate the sources of campaign financing and the financial histories of new political entrants.

They asserted that Enugu State would not become a haven for unexplained wealth and called for civil society organizations and media to intensify oversight of political developments leading up to the elections.
