NDC Grants Obi and Kwankwaso Authority for Campaign Nominations

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has authorized its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to nominate principal officers for the party’s Presidential Campaign Council in preparation for the 2027 general elections. This decision was made following consultations among Obi, Kwankwaso, the party’s National Leader, and other NDC leadership members.

The nominations include positions such as Director-General, Deputy Director-General for the North, campaign spokesperson, and others. Osa Director, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, stated that the proposed organogram for the campaign council was prepared in August and sent to Obi and Kwankwaso for input.

The inauguration of the campaign council, initially scheduled for early September, was postponed due to Obi’s travel commitments. The NDC has also established a campaign timetable and is finalizing funding arrangements.

All funds raised will be managed jointly by officials nominated by Obi and Kwankwaso and the NDC National Treasurer, ensuring accountability as required by the Electoral Act.
