NDC Allows Obi and Kwankwaso to Nominate Campaign Council

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has granted its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, the authority to nominate essential members for the party's presidential campaign council in preparation for the 2027 elections. This decision was communicated in a statement by the NDC's National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, following discussions with Obi, Kwankwaso, and the party's national leader, Seriake Dickson.

The nominations will include positions such as director-general, deputy director-general (North), campaign spokesman, and finance director, among others, and are intended to foster inclusiveness and cohesion within the campaign structure. The organogram for the campaign council was prepared in August and submitted for their input.

The inauguration of the council, initially set for the first week of September, was postponed due to Obi's travel schedule. The NDC is also finalizing a campaign timetable and fundraising arrangements, with funds to be managed transparently in accordance with the Electoral Act.
