Southern Kaduna Youth Group Backs Senator Katung's Re-election

The Southern Kaduna Progressives Youth Network publicly endorsed Senator Sunday Marshall Katung for re-election in the 2027 general elections, disavowing an old video that called for his recall. Al-amin Abbas Jere, Chairman of the network, stated that the video, recorded over a year ago, was misleading and politically motivated, allegedly circulated by supporters of a defeated aspirant from the recent APC Southern Kaduna Senatorial Primary.

The network clarified that its previous call for Katung's recall was based on incomplete information and has since been formally withdrawn. They conducted an independent review, confirming that neither Senator Katung nor his wife were subjects of any money laundering investigation, attributing their situation to a legitimate property transaction.

The network praised Katung's impactful leadership, citing his legislative achievements, including the establishment of educational and healthcare institutions, and various constituency projects. They also congratulated his wife on her recent appointment as the 130th Lord Mayor of Leeds.

The group warned against further circulation of the old video and threatened legal action against those disseminating false information.
