Ondo Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspects, Recover Weapons

The Ondo State Police Command, led by Felix Ohagwu, arrested three suspects identified as Promis Daniel (34), Ifeanyi Umahi (29), and Adaramoy Abayomi (37), who are allegedly members of a notorious armed robbery syndicate. This arrest followed intelligence-led operations aimed at combating violent crime in the state.

The suspects were intercepted while traveling in a Mercedes Benz ML 350 SUV, linked to several armed robbery cases in Ondo and Lagos states. Items recovered from the suspects included an AK-47 rifle with 18 rounds of live ammunition, an English-made Beretta pistol with four rounds of ammunition, and an UTC iron cutter.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were already on the police command's watchlist for their involvement in violent robberies. During interrogation, they confessed to owning the recovered weapons and provided information that could assist in tracking down other fleeing gang members.

Additionally, the police command has been active in addressing violent land disputes in Kajola, leading to the arrest of seven more suspects and the recovery of additional firearms.
