Atiku Blames Tinubu's Policies for Nigeria's Hardships

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria and a candidate from the African Democratic Congress, stated that the current hardships faced by Nigerians are a direct consequence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's policies, rather than global economic challenges. He argued that Nigeria's economy cannot thrive on borrowing and importing goods but must focus on self-reliance, particularly in agriculture and manufacturing.

Atiku highlighted alarming statistics, noting that food inflation has reached 17.52%, with some states experiencing even higher rates. He pointed out that Nigerian manufacturers spent 3.53 trillion naira on importing raw materials in just six months.

Atiku called for urgent reforms to rebuild the economy, including reducing import duties on industrial machinery, stabilizing the naira, and investing in infrastructure. He referenced the successful economic reforms during the administration of Olusegun Obasanjo, which restored investor confidence and attracted private investment.
