Northern Youths Back Tinubu's 2027 Re-election Bid

The Arewa Youth Assembly for Good Leadership (AYAGL) has publicly endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid for the 2027 elections. This support is based on consultations with traditional leaders, political analysts, youth groups, agrarian unions, and civil society actors across the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory.

AYAGL commended the Tinubu administration for its positive impact on security and economic development, particularly praising the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, for coordinating military operations against terrorism and banditry. The group also acknowledged the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for his role in intelligence coordination.

AYAGL highlighted improvements in pension administration by the Military Pensions Board and recognized the Rural Electrification Agency's efforts under Managing Director/CEO Abba Abubakar Aliyu to enhance electricity access in rural areas. The assembly urged Northern political actors to campaign responsibly and focus on issues affecting youth welfare, including security, employment, and education.
