Rhodes-Vivour Calls for Accountability in 2027 Lagos Elections

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the former Labour Party gubernatorial candidate for Lagos State, addressed Lagosians, calling for an end to criminality and urging them to elect accountable leaders in the upcoming 2027 elections. He emphasized that the decision to elect a governor should rest with the voters and not with a select few individuals.

Rhodes-Vivour reacted to reports regarding Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's resignation on health grounds, dismissing such claims. He stressed that political power should not be concentrated in the hands of a few and criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly the presidency, for allegedly undermining the agency of Lagosians.

He asserted that the people of Lagos are determined to reclaim their rights and will not tolerate the current administration's governance, which he described as kleptocratic. Rhodes-Vivour's message was clear: the 2027 elections should mark a permanent end to criminality and the election of accountable leaders beholden to the people of Lagos.
