Sanwo-Olu Unveils APC Governorship Candidates for 2027

On Thursday, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu officially announced the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket for the 2027 elections, presenting Dr. Obafemi Hamzat as the gubernatorial candidate and Princess Damilola Sonayon Jame as his running mate.

Sanwo-Olu highlighted the importance of combining Hamzat's experience with Sonayon Jame's fresh ideas to sustain the development agenda of the administration. He praised Hamzat for his loyalty and significant contributions to policy formulation and implementation during his tenure as Deputy Governor.

Sanwo-Olu also described Sonayon Jame as a grassroots politician committed to community development and youth empowerment. The governor expressed confidence in the pair's ability to build on the achievements of the current administration and called on APC members and stakeholders to support the ticket.

The announcement followed the party's primary election held on May 21, where Hamzat secured 657,917 votes out of 657,974 accredited votes.
