Ex-Kebbi Governor Aspirant Leads Mass Defection to APC in Kebbi State

In 2027, Lawali Dakingari, a former governorship aspirant and PDP chieftain in Kebbi State, led a significant defection from the PDP to the APC. Dakingari, along with thousands of supporters from Suru Local Government Area, defected to the APC during a ceremony where they were received by Governor Nasir Idri.

The move was aimed at strengthening political participation and contributing to the governance of the state. The defection included former local government chairmen and other political stakeholders.

The APC chairman in Kebbi State, Abubakar Kana Zuru, described the defection as a significant boost to the party and urged new members to remain committed to party unity.
