Arabambi Challenges Obi Over Certificate Discrepancies

Abayomi Arabambi, a chieftain of the Labour Party and former national publicity secretary, has publicly challenged Peter Obi regarding discrepancies in the names on his official documents as Obi prepares to run for the presidency in 2027. Arabambi urged Obi to withdraw from the race until these discrepancies are resolved, particularly questioning the variations of Obi's name on different documents submitted to electoral and educational authorities.

He highlighted that Obi identified himself as “Peter Onwubuasi Gregory” on the INEC Form EC9, while other documents showed variations such as “Obi Gregory Onwubuasi” and “Peter Gregory Onwubuasi Obi.” Arabambi emphasized the importance of consistent identity across official records, noting that Obi declared he had no other formal name on the INEC form. He also raised concerns about the names on Obi’s educational certificates from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and his National Youth Service Corps discharge certificate.

Arabambi appealed to Seriake Dickson, the national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, to withhold a presidential nomination form from Obi until these issues are clarified.
