FG Urges Students to Mobilize Votes for Tinubu in 2027

The Federal Government of Nigeria has called on students to mobilize 10 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election. This appeal was made by the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, during a meeting with the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Abuja.

Alausa stressed that young Nigerians have a significant stake in the election outcomes, as the next administration's decisions will directly affect their education and future opportunities. He highlighted the Tinubu administration's commitment to addressing educational challenges through initiatives such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which has allocated about N200 billion, benefiting over 1.6 million students.

The minister also mentioned investments in student accommodation and vocational education, as well as plans to enhance campus conditions through renewable energy projects and improved transportation. Alausa assured students that the monthly upkeep allowance under NELFUND would continue and that efforts are being made to raise the maximum grant amount available for student ventures.
