Zailani Declares Candidacy for Kaduna Central Senate 2027

Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani, the former Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, publicly declared his intention to contest for the Kaduna Central senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections during an event at Rigachikun Primary School on a Saturday. He described his decision as a divine summons to serve the people and emphasized that his candidacy is not driven by personal ambition but rather a commitment to advance the interests of Kaduna Central.

Zailani expressed his political alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he referred to as a mentor and father figure, and urged support for a joint ticket with Governor Uba Sani for the upcoming elections. He highlighted the need for federal government intervention in reducing the high cost of fertilizers to support farmers in the north.

Zailani also noted the challenges faced by northern governors in delivering tangible development outcomes and stressed the importance of responsible management of public funds.
