Gbenga Daniel Challenges Dapo Abiodun to Live Debate

Gbenga Daniel, the former governor of Ogun State, has issued a public challenge to the current governor, Dapo Abiodun, to participate in a live television debate concerning the Ogun East senatorial seat for the 2027 elections. During an interview on TVC's "Beyond Headlines," Daniel criticized Abiodun's silence on pressing issues and stated that it speaks louder than words.

He emphasized the need for a direct encounter without delay, asserting that failing to do so would be a disservice. Daniel, who served as governor from May 29, 2003, to May 29, 2011, rejected the APC's consensus candidacy for the Ogun East senatorial seat, accusing the process of manipulation.

He warned Abiodun about the consequences of his governance style and called for open primaries. As Abiodun is currently serving his second and final term as governor, the political dynamics in Ogun State are intensifying as the 2027 elections approach.
