2027: Gov Bago declares himself Director-General of Tinubu’s re-election campaign

Niger State Governor Umaru Bago has declared himself as the Director-General of the Progressive Congress (APC) presidential campaign for President Bola Tinubu in 2027. The announcement was made in Minna, the state capital, where the governor also revealed that Niger State would serve as the headquarters for the campaign.

Governor Bago criticized members of the ruling party who are pushing for a northern candidate for the upcoming election, emphasizing the importance of the North-South unwritten understanding formula. He highlighted that Nigerians love Nigeria and that the power rotation between the North and South has brought peace to the country.

This move comes as President Buhari completes his tenure, with Asiwaju entering his second year.
