Tinubu’s associates begin campaign for united southern Nigeria ahead of 2027

Associates of President Bola Tinubu have initiated a campaign for a united southern Nigeria in preparation for the 2027 elections. The move is aimed at securing support from the southern region for Tinubu's presidential bid.

Key political figures, including state governors and office holders from various parties, have been contacted to rally voters behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate. While there may be resistance in some areas, efforts are being made to mobilize support.

The national coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Tanko Yunusa, emphasized the need for a shift in leadership ideology and accountability in governance. Despite speculation about negotiations with opposition figures like Peter Obi, the former Anambra governor remains focused on his own presidential ambitions.

The planned solidarity campaign is seen as a strategic move to consolidate support for Tinubu and potentially influence the political landscape in the run-up to the 2027 elections.
