Youth Group Advocates for Yobe Governorship Ticket Zoning

The Maiduguri Nguru Ina Mafita Youth Group has called for the Yobe State governorship ticket to be zoned to Zone C. During a press conference held in Nguru, the group's leader, Ibrahim Moham Abubakar, highlighted that since the inception of democracy in 1999, Zone C has not produced a governor or deputy governor. The group noted that Zone B has had representation, including a deputy governor, while Zone A has had two governors. They plan to gather on April 10, 2026, to further support their cause and endorse Engr. Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja, a seasoned politician and bureaucrat, for the governorship position. Maihaja has previously contested for the governorship in 2007 and 2015 and played a significant role in the presidential campaign that brought Bola Ahmed Tinubu to power in 2023. The youth group aims to amplify their voice in the political landscape and ensure that the interests of Nguru are represented.
