Wike Confident in Tinubu's 2027 FCT Election Prospects

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), identified three candidates he believes are capable of winning the elections in the FCT during the 2027 general elections. He expressed no fears regarding the prospects of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other contenders, including Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda and John Gabaya.

Wike made these statements in Abuja on Thursday while addressing journalists after inspecting ongoing infrastructure projects in satellite communities within the FCT. He highlighted the Apo-Karshi road contract, which was initially awarded in 2010 but faced delays under the previous administration.

The current administration has reassigned the contract, with the contractor committing to complete the road by November. Wike emphasized the government's commitment to extending development initiatives beyond the central business district, noting that over ten projects would be inaugurated in the FCT before the next elections.

He asserted that the Tinubu administration's effective governance would resonate with voters, encouraging them to support candidates dedicated to their welfare.
