Jonathan Consults on 2027 Presidential Race, Urges Youth

Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan announced on Thursday that he is still in the process of consulting before making a decision about contesting in the 2027 presidential election. He emphasized that the presidential race is not a computer game, responding to a group that urged him to run.

Jonathan expressed genuine fears about the potential collapse of Nigeria and highlighted the importance of peace in the country. He noted that a significant number of young people are not aware of the political landscape and urged them to become actively involved in the electoral process.

Jonathan mentioned that he has observed elections in 14 African countries and reiterated that the electoral process requires credible citizens who are committed to peace. He stated that he would continue to advocate for peace and encourage youth participation in the upcoming elections.
