INEC's Joash Amupitan Ensures Electoral Integrity for 2027

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), under the leadership of Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan, SAN, reaffirmed its commitment to electoral integrity in preparation for the 2027 general elections. This assurance was made during operations at the Commission’s National Situation Room in Abuja.

A statement from Chief Press Secretary Adedayo Oketola highlighted that operational issues identified before recent by-elections in Gombe, Kano, Bauchi, and Delta states were effectively resolved. Amupitan emphasized that these by-elections serve as crucial operational tests, providing essential lessons for the upcoming general election.

He stated that every election is significant for refining processes and enhancing public confidence. The by-elections, conducted on Saturday, included four legislative contests across the mentioned states.

Amupitan, along with National Commissioners and senior officials, monitored the elections and received operational reports, thanking the technical team for their seamless execution of the multi-state exercise.
