INEC Displays Tinubu, Shettima Credentials for 2027 Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has initiated the public display of the personal particulars and academic credentials of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in preparation for the 2027 general election. This exercise commenced on Saturday and is part of the electoral process mandated by Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act, 2026.

Tinubu's Form EC9 reveals that he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Chicago State University, awarded “with honours” on June 22, 1979. His NYSC discharge certificate indicates service in Oyo State from December 1982 to November 1983.

Tinubu's work history includes a tenure at Mobil Nigeria Limited from 1983 to 1992 and service in the Lagos State Government from 1999 to 2007. Kashim Shettima's credentials detail his educational background, including a Second Class Upper Division degree in Agriculture from the University of Maiduguri and a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan.

His NYSC service was completed between October 1989 and October 1990.
