INEC's Prof. Onuoha Promises Credible 2027 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a fair, neutral, transparent, and credible general election in 2027. This assurance was given by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Akwa Ibom State, Prof. Anugbum Onuoha, during a one-day capacity-building workshop in Uyo for 51 Voter Education Desk Officers and Assistant Electoral Officers from Akwa Ibom and Cross River states.

Onuoha emphasized that the effectiveness of the electoral process relies heavily on the knowledge and professionalism of the personnel involved. He stated that continuous training is vital for improving the performance of electoral officials and that workshops are essential for acquiring new knowledge and understanding electoral procedures.

Onuoha urged facilitators to treat the training seriously and ensure participants gain practical knowledge. He also highlighted the need for electoral personnel to understand their responsibilities and prohibited conduct to maintain public confidence in the electoral process.
