Donald Duke, the former governor of Cross River State and current presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), has gained international recognition ahead of the 2027 presidential election, as highlighted by the publication Global Hukum Indonesia. The publication describes Duke as one of Nigeria's promising presidential candidates over the last two decades.

Duke was initially elected governor in 1999 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and later contested the 2023 presidential election with the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Global Hukum Indonesia reports that political and economic observers from the United States, Europe, and Asia are monitoring his activities.

Duke's proposed agenda includes governance reforms aimed at enhancing transparency and reducing corruption, as well as modernizing Nigeria's education system and integrating artificial intelligence into public administration. His strategy also encompasses digital literacy initiatives and the application of technology in agriculture, manufacturing, and healthcare, aiming to address Nigeria's domestic challenges.
