El-Rufai Predicts ADC Won't Nominate Atiku for 2027

Bashir El-Rufai, the son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, expressed his views on social media regarding the upcoming 2027 presidential elections. He suggested that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will not field Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President, as its presidential candidate.

Bashir made these remarks in response to a comment asserting that Atiku would "woefully lose" the election. He characterized Atiku as someone who should assume the role of a statesman rather than a political godfather, indicating that the current period is a critical time in the country's history.

Bashir El-Rufai emphasized that Atiku would not be able to win, arguing that the political landscape is challenging, and that a strong candidate from the South East would have wider acceptance compared to northern figures. He concluded that the strategy to defeat opponents would be difficult for Atiku.
