ADC Official Dismisses Obi-Kwankwaso Ticket for 2027

Oladimeji, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated that a proposed joint presidential ticket between Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and Labour Party candidate, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, would not generate sufficient votes to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 elections. During a press briefing in Abuja on Monday, Oladimeji referenced voting patterns from the 2023 general elections, arguing that their combined efforts would fall short.

Instead, he advocated for a partnership with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, suggesting that this would be a more viable path for the opposition. He noted that political leaders have already shown willingness to support a unified ticket and cited Atiku's position of backing whoever emerges as the candidate, reflecting a similar sentiment expressed by Rotimi Amaechi.
