Kwankwaso Urges ADC Supporters to Join NDC Next Week

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, has instructed his supporters to resign from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of his anticipated defection to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) scheduled for next week. This directive was communicated by Kabiru Adamu Abdullahi, who announced his resignation from the ADC, citing Kwankwaso's leadership as the reason for his decision.

Abdullahi's resignation letter, dated May 1, 2026, was addressed to the ward chairman and expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided by the party while wishing it well in the future. Shehu Wada Sagagi, a leader within the Kwankwasiyya movement, supported the decision to move to the NDC, highlighting the risks faced by the ADC and the wisdom in aligning with the NDC as the best option.

Additionally, there are speculations regarding Peter Obi's imminent announcement of his own defection.
