Kwara ADC Launches Membership Drive for 2027 Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kwara State commenced a membership drive on Tuesday in Ilorin, targeting the 2027 gubernatorial elections. The initiative is led by Abdulmumin Ajia, who is a gubernatorial aspirant and a professor of business administration at Lincoln University in the United States.

During the membership drive, Ajia presented his political agenda, emphasizing the need to rebuild the governance system in Kwara, moving beyond mere budget publication to ensure citizen access to project tracking and contract outcomes. He outlined a framework based on four pillars, including job creation, institutional development, and improvements in public service delivery in healthcare and education.

Ajia also highlighted the importance of digital governance to enhance citizen access to government services. He called for broad political coalitions, inviting professionals, youth leaders, women’s groups, and civil society organizations to join efforts in redefining politics in Kwara, addressing public distrust in Nigerian politics, and advocating for serious policy frameworks.
