Labour Party Screens Agada, Nwigwe for 2027 Presidency

The Labour Party screened Peter Agada and Samuel Nwigwe as aspirants for the 2027 presidential race. The screening was conducted on a Thursday by a committee led by Nenadi Usman, the party's chairman.

Agada, who hails from Benue State, stated that the region is not recognized in the Nigerian constitution, which he believes should be amended to reflect a gentleman's agreement regarding presidential candidacy. Despite Agada's previous role as the director of the Obidi movement, he faces competition for the party's ticket.

Nwigwe, from Ebonyi State, called for a new governance structure to address Nigeria's challenges, including security and political violence. The Labour Party aims to present credible candidates who can deliver democratic dividends and represent the people's interests.

The screening committee also included other aspirants for various electoral positions.
